Sze Fei-Izzuddin crash out of Singapore Open

National men’s doubles shuttlers Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani exited the Singapore Open after losing to Indonesian pair Fajar Alfian-Shohibul Fikri in the quarter-finals today.

The world No 8 pair went down 18-21, 21-10, 14-21 in a 52-minute match at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin, runners-up at last week’s Malaysia Masters, were unable to match the pace of the world No 3 Indonesian pair in the deciding game despite putting up a strong fight.

This marked their 11th defeat in 14 meetings against the Indonesian duo.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin have won one title so far this year: the Indonesia Masters in January.
