Married couple killed in three-vehicle crash

Their car veered into the opposite lane and collided with two oncoming vehicles in heavy rain, police said.

MERSING:
A married couple died in an accident involving three vehicles at the Endau-Mersing road this afternoon.

District police chief Abdul Razak Abdullah Sani said the accident involved a Perodua Myvi, Toyota Innova, and Chery Omoda at about 5.10pm.

He said the victims were Firdaus Bustaman, 24, and Siti Nur Aisyah Anoor Beet Babjan Kahar, 23, from Taman Kota Masai, Pasir Gudang. They sustained severe injuries and died at the scene.

He said the accident is believed to have occurred when the couple’s Myvi car veered into the opposite lane and collided with a Innova and a Omoda in heavy rain.

Abdul Razak said the driver of the Innova fractured his right toe, while his wife sustained minor injuries, and the 75-year-old driver of the Omoda was reported unhurt.
