PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said the party has its own mechanisms to manage its leaders and will not act based on pressure from outside parties.
“There is no need to take action because PAS does not act based on the wishes of other parties. There are various internal mechanisms that can be used,” he told FMT.
Yesterday, Bersatu Supreme Council member R Sanjeevan called on the Islamic party to take disciplinary action against the Pasir Mas MP, accusing Fadhli of repeatedly ignoring a directive to stay silent on internal coalition issues.
The call followed reports that Fadhli had said PAS was ready to help suspended former Bersatu leader Wan Saiful Wan Jan contest any seat in the next general election.
Tuan Ibrahim said PAS has the right to field candidates if individuals were no longer members of any political party.
“There is no need to hold grudges until the grave. We respect those who are still party members, but once they are sacked, they are free to join and contest under another party,” he said.
“Just like Shahidan Kassim, Ismail Abd Muttalib, and even many Bersatu candidates who originally came from other parties.”
Relations between PAS and Bersatu have become increasingly tense, particularly since PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said the party would re-examine its alliance with Bersatu.
PAS has also issued a gag order barring its leaders from commenting on developments involving other parties unless given special approval by the leadership.
