Federal criminal investigation department chief Shuhaily Zain said Razali provided his statement at the Chukai police station in Kemaman, Terengganu, as part of the investigation into sedition and misuse of network facilities.

“The investigation papers will be completed as soon as possible and referred to the attorney-general’s chambers in the near future,” he said.

Last month, Razali had claimed that MACC and judges were controlled by the government. His remark was made at the launch of Perikatan Nasional’s election machinery for the Dec 2 Kemaman by-election.

Razali, an executive councillor and assemblyman for Kijal, was also heard questioning the High Court’s verdict regarding the case of Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.

MACC previously said Razali’s claims were slanderous, defamatory, and could erode the public’s trust in the commission. It went on to express hope that immediate action would be taken against those who slandered the agency.
