PETALING JAYA:
Citaglobal Bhd has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Petronas Global Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd to collaborate in a wide range of renewable energy technologies and applications.

The areas include battery energy storage systems (Bess), biogas engine biomass engineering, waste-to-energy (WTE), heat-to-energy (HTE) and carbon capture and utilisation.

Petronas Global Technical Solutions, a subsidiary of national oil company Petronas, is involved in the provision of technology products, technical services, project management and engineering solution services.

The MoU was signed yesterday during the Energy Asia conference by Citaglobal’s executive chairman Norza Zakaria and Petronas Global Technical Solutions CEO Annaliz Abu Bakar.

In a statement today, Citaglobal said the MoU involves the installation of a 246kWh Bess for Petronas’ Centre of Excellence for Renewable Energy.

There will also be a joint feasibility study to scale up Bess technology solutions in all existing and future facilities of Petronas.

Apart from that, feasibility studies will also be conducted in the areas of biogas, WTE and HTE applications as well as carbon capture and utilisation.

“To make renewable energy consistent and sustainable in Malaysia, collaborating with Petronas is a strong start towards making this a reality and achieving our lower carbon goals in the future.

“We will give our all for this collaboration, in the drive towards a carbon-neutral world of net-zero emissions by 2050,” said Norza.
