HANOI:
Malaysian divers chalked up the nation’s first gold and silver medals at the Hanoi SEA Games by winning the women’s one-metre springboard individual event today.

Nur Dhabitah Sabri amassed 290.45 points to win the gold while her compatriot Kimberly Bong took the silver with 230.00 points.

The bronze was won by homester Ngo Phuong Mai, who obtained 224.00 points.

This was also the first gold medal on offer at the biennial Games before the official opening ceremony on Thursday (May 12).

Dhabitah, who had won four gold medals in her previous SEA Games outings, thus added one more to her collection after accumulating her points from five dives.

There is much confidence all round that she can bag her sixth gold medal when she competes in the synchronised 10m platform event with diving queen Pandelela Rinong Ramg on Wednesday (May 11) at the same venue.
