PETALING JAYA:
National men’s doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani were beaten by top seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty in the Thailand Open after a hard-fought three-game semi-final.

The world No 9 Malaysian pair took the first game, but the world No 4 Indian duo fought back to win 19-21, 22-20, 21-16 in 80 minutes at the Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

This was the eighth time the Indians have defeated their Malaysian rivals in 10 meetings.

The Indian pair are now into their third consecutive Thailand Open final.

The Malaysian duo, who have been struggling to find their form this year, are in search of their second title of the season, having won the Indonesia Masters in January.

Sze Fei-Izzuddin won US$7,000 (RM27,656) as semi-finalists in the World Tour Super 500 tournament.
