Kubis & Kale, founded by Aaron Lim, a pioneer in Malaysia’s poke bowl scene, is located in the bustling commercial area of Bandar Sunway, a short walk away from both Sunway and Monash Universities.
The restaurant’s speciality is poke bowls, which are largely vegetable-based but retain the optional helping of salmon or chicken.

It is the staple here and is a sign of the continuing health food craze which began a few years back.
The lasting appeal of this Hawaiian-inspired dish comes from the customer’s ability to customise their bowls with their choice of base, ingredients and sauces.
Their picks are then added to either rice, soba noodles or quinoa and finally garnished with vegetables and umami-packed sauces.

There are large variety of vegetables and fruits available in Kubis & Kale, with creative and tasty sauces to accompany them.
To bring the poke bowl to the next level, three new lines that cater to vegetarians and vegans have been introduced, namely the poke bowl, cooked dishes and vegan superfoods.
Newcomers to the restaurant can expect to be dazzled by the vast variety of sauces, proteins, fillings and vegetables that they can choose to be included in their poke bowl.

Should it be too difficult to make a decision, the restaurant has a menu of pre-set poke bowls to ease the decision-making process.
In addition to its delicious offerings, Kubis & Kale collaborates with local farmers to bring fresh produce from farm to the table for the best dining experience.
The restaurant uses carbon vegetables, which are clean, nutritious and safe.

They are so-called because they are grown using the carbon regenerative farming method which is chemicide-free and improves the nutritional benefits of vegetables.
According to Lim, Kubis & Kale is a venue for simple, seasonal and healthy food.
Speaking to FMT, he said, “People have the misconception that eating healthy involves bland food with greens only, and that it is very expensive.”
He asserted that Kubis & Kale keeps its prices affordable for its customers and is more than willing to provide them with facts and information about what they are eating.

Concurring with him is dietician Indra Balatratnam who says that busy people find it a challenge to eat a healthy meal, so poke bowls offer them a chance to mix and match a variety of ingredients.
To promote International Vegan Day this Nov 1, Kubis & Kale is offering a “Buy 1 Free 1 promo” from Nov 1 to Nov 3, 2019 to start the “bowl” rolling for a healthier lifestyle.
So for those who wish to start a healthy lifestyle without sacrificing your taste for good food, head over to Kubis & Kale and have fun making your very own healthy poke bowl.
