Colony, a local hospitality-inspired coworking and event space provider, was established to challenge the dreary and mundane nature of traditional workplaces.
Since its inception in 2017, the brand has been driven by a simple idea: to create a first-class work experience, complete with perks you’d expect from a luxury hotel, including concierge support and daily housekeeping.
Starting with its first location at Vipod Residence KLCC – designed around a “Gentlemen’s Club” theme – Colony has since expanded to multiple centres across the Klang Valley. Now, it’s stepping beyond Kuala Lumpur for the first time.

Located on the 9th floor of Menara Sunsuria in Setia Alam, Colony’s newest address blends old-world British charm with sleek, modern luxury. From checkered tiles and wooden furnishings to vintage-style chandeliers, the space makes a striking first impression from the moment you walk in.
Set within Sunsuria Forum, home to Village Grocer, Starbucks, BookXcess, Anytime Fitness, and more, alongside serviced residences, the location offers ultimate live-work convenience. A major plus: ample parking directly connected to the building.
On April 9, co-founders Timothy Tiah and his wife Audrey Ooi welcomed guests to the grand unveiling of Colony at Setia Alam. Dressed in a garden party theme, guests spent the afternoon exploring the space in a relaxed, elegant setting.
FMT Lifestyle attended the launch, beginning at The Conservatory – a rooftop ballroom beneath a dramatic skylight, designed for weddings, corporate events, and special celebrations, with a capacity of up to 200 guests.

For the occasion, the space was transformed into a scene reminiscent of “Bridgerton”, complete with a water fountain, lush floral arrangements, and live violin performances – offering a glimpse into its potential as a dream event venue.
“This is our first location outside of KL, and it actually took us two years to build,” Tiah shared.
Colony at Setia Alam is designed to cater to a wide range of working styles, with fully equipped meeting rooms for team discussions, client presentations, and workshops, alongside private offices ranging from two to six pax, with bespoke configurations available for teams of up to 20 pax.
The space also features flexible open work areas, as well as thoughtfully designed private nooks. Tucked behind the concierge are Colony’s take on phone booths – single-person rooms fitted with a small desk and lamp, perfect for private calls.

One of the standout features is a hidden room concealed behind a bookshelf that opens up, known as the Juniper Room, complete with a bar and even a karaoke setup. With its cosy seating and large table, it’s a space designed for casual gatherings – proof that work and play can go hand in hand.
Another highlight is the Primrose Suite, located near The Conservatory. This more feminine space stands out with its bright, colourful wall art and a full-length mirror – making it an ideal prep area for brides before their big entrance.
Whether you’re looking to focus, host a productive meeting, or entertain, Colony at Setia Alam offers a refreshing take on the modern Malaysian workspace.
