Shah Alam police chief Ramsay Embol said the incident is believed to have taken place during a wedding photoshoot at the public parking area near the Setia Alam Community Trail.
He said the fireworks caused between 50 and 100 loud explosions.
“The viral recording showed that (the first incident) occurred on April 26 at 1.05am, and the fireworks were set off in three consecutive series. The incident recurred on April 27 at around 2.11am.
“A police report was received on April 29 at 8.26am after the video went viral on social media and attracted public attention,” he said in a statement today.
The case is being investigated under Section 13 of the Minor Offences Act 1955 and Section 7 of the Explosives Act 1957.
