In a statement here today, AirAsia said the 50% discount, for those travelling from today until April 27, is applicable to all Rayani Air passengers who hold a confirmed flight booking.
The passengers can present it at an AirAsia Travel & Service Centre at KLIA2, Langkawi International Airport, Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (Kota Baru), Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
“We empathise with all the affected Rayani Air passengers and we hope that this discount will help ease them in making new travel arrangements, especially with the extensive flight frequencies that we have servicing all the affected destinations,” said AirAsia Head of Commercial Spencer Lee.
AirAsia operates 11 daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Langkawi, eight daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Baru, 11 daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kuching, eight daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu, and three daily flights from Kota Kinabalu to Kuching.
Earlier, Malaysia Airlines also offered to help the Rayani Air passengers rebook their cancelled flights.
The national carrier also offered discounted airfares.
The offer, from today until April 30, was for travel dates until July 31, 2016.
The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) today provisionally suspended Rayani Air’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC) for three months effective Monday.
