GEORGE TOWN:
Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah has been transferred to the Penang Hospital for a follow-up today, after suffering an intestinal complication recently.

Political Secretary Saiful Azizi Zainal Abidin said Bashah was referred to Penang Hospital for a follow-up with specialists there.

“The MB has been transferred to the Penang Hospital to receive continuous monitoring.

“We understand that the Penang Hospital is equipped with the latest medical facilities and he will be supervised by specialists.

“He is well and recovering,” Saiful said in a statement today.

Saiful also urged people not to feed the rumour mill but rely on official sources from the State Secretary’s office or the Menteri Besar’s office for Bashah’s health updates.

“I hope no parties will make wild speculations. Just rely on the official updates,” Saiful added.

Bashah was taken to the Kedah Medical Centre in Alor Star on Saturday after complaining of dizziness while at a meeting with state assemblymen the day before.

He was placed in intensive care and was reported to be in a stable condition.
