In a WhatsApp message that went viral recently, some new students of the maahad tahfiz were alleged to have been molested.
Meanwhile, Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) Director Mohd Yusop Husin said the department visited the maahad tahfiz a few days ago and interviewed several students.
He said although the school was registered with the JAIPk, administrative matters, including student intake, was run entirely by the maahad tahfiz because it was a private institution.
