KUALA LUMPUR:
Rasah MP Teo Kok Seong says it was DAP’s “Milo tin donations” that left MCA as a “7-11” party with only seven parliamentary and 11 state seats.

Teo was responding to MCA deputy president Wee Ka Siong who yesterday slammed DAP for not helping the Chinese community enough.

Wee said DAP used “Milo tins to collect money” and had donated far less to Chinese schools than MCA.

In response, DAP’s Teo said MCA should know that people have had enough of its system.

“Yesterday, MCA said DAP has no right to question or criticise. They have been helping the community and we only know how to collect donations with Milo tins.

“Those very Milo tins were the reason for MCA being left with only seven Parliamentary and 11 state seats,” he told reporters at the Dewan Rakyat lobby today.

Teo also hit out at Wee for claiming DAP was not contributing to the community.

“If I don’t contribute to the people, how come I was chosen as the representative in the elections? What’s important is that I did not do embarrassing things.

“If I was a minister or deputy that failed to deliver budget allocations promised by the prime minister, I would be embarrassed over that,” he said, alluding to delays in the disbursement of budget allocations to Chinese schools.
