KUALA LUMPUR: A security supervisor at a nightclub pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today to attempting to murder and causing grievous hurt to a customer at the outlet last week.
Muhammad Hafifie Abd Rahman, 28, was charged with intentionally trying to kill and cause grievous hurt by pushing Law Wei Kean, 23, at the nightclub in Bandar Manjalara, Kepong, here at 11.30pm on June 7.
He was charged under Section 307 of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of 20 years, if convicted.
Judge Rohatul Akmar Abdullah set bail at RM6,000 in one surety and July 4 for re-mention.
She also ordered the accused to report to the nearest police station once a fortnight and banned him from approaching the prosecution witnesses.
Deputy public prosecutor Norazlin Muhammad Yusoff appeared for the prosecution while the accused was represented by counsel Kay Fatimah.
