KOTA KINABALU: Former Upko assemblyman Bobbey Suan has decided to join PPBM.

The Nabawan rep has been an independent since resigning as Upko vice-president last July.

“After observing the political scenario over the last 11 months, both at the state and national level, I have come to the conclusion that i can move on from being an independent assemblyman to one representing PPBM.

“I believe this is the best way forward for the people in my constituency and in Sabah in general.

“I’m joining PPBM in line with the wishes of the big majority of my voters in my constituency,” he said in a short statement today.

Suan is expected to receive his official membership from PPBM chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is also prime minister, when he officially launches Sabah PPBM in Penampang near here later today.

Meanwhile, most of the who’s who in Sabah politics were present at the launch, to be held at the ITCC shopping mall near here at 4pm.
