
He said one was remanded, 35 freed on bail and 42 compounded for taking part in activities that made social distancing difficult, and going against the SOPs.
In a statement, Ismail said police also detained 14 foreigners for immigration offences as part of the authorities’ ongoing operation against undocumented migrants.
“The government will continue to act against anyone trying to enter the country illegally, and enforcement agencies will continue to tighten border control, especially along illegal routes,” he said.
Nineteen construction sites found not complying with SOPs were advised by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) to adhere to the guidelines and have been ordered to close.
Ismail also said 934 Malaysians returned from Japan, Indonesia, Qatar, Singapore, Australia, Turkey, South Korea, India, Bangladesh, Iran and the United Arab Emirates through KLIA and klia2 yesterday.
One of them was taken to hospital and the others allowed to undergo home quarantine.
