Three more men have been arrested to assist in the investigation into the death of a man who was slashed in Buntong, Perak, on Monday.

Ipoh police chief Najib Hamzah said the three suspects, aged 24 to 34, were nabbed at the Buntong market and has been remanded until tomorrow, Bernama reported.

Another suspect, 23, was previously arrested and placed under remand for a week.

Police, who were informed about a fight late on Monday night, went to the scene and found the victim, 25, lying in the middle of a road.

Two of the victim’s friends also suffered injuries.

Najib said the pair were still being treated in hospital and were in weak but stable condition.

Perak police chief Noor Hisam Nordin said the incident was believed to have stemmed from a dispute between two groups and did not involve racial issues.
