The Sabah Umno chief said no discussions were held about Musa standing in Sungai Manila as the latter had hinted earlier today, Astro Awani reported.
“His name is not in the list of Barisan Nasional candidates that will be announced tomorrow,” he was quoted as saying by the portal.
BN is expected to unveil its candidates for the polls at 10am tomorrow.
Musa this evening sparked speculation over where he could stand in the upcoming state elections in a Facebook post.
Musa who is the incumbent for the Sungai Sibuga seat in Sandakan wrote: “I’m going back to Sungai Manila.”
Many social media users took it as a sign that Musa, who is Sabah’s longest-serving chief minister, will contest the Sungai Manila seat in Libaran.
Nominations for the Sabah election will take place on Saturday and the polls will be held on Sept 26.
