Brunei Sultan’s second son dies at 38

No cause of death was announced for Prince Abdul Azim.

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN:
Brunei’s Prince Abdul Azim, second son of the sultan, died today at the age of 38, Xinhua News Agency reported.

According to a statement from the Brunei’s Sultan’s office, the people and residents of Brunei are required to fly the national flag at half-mast and begin a seven-day mourning period starting from Saturday.

The cause of Prince Abdul Azim’s death was not announced, the report added.

Prince Azim was born in Bandar Seri Begawan on July 29, 1982. He was the eldest child of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Pengiran Isteri Hajah Mariam, and the sultan’s second-born son. He was educated at International School Brunei, Raffles Institution and Oxford Brookes University.
