Umno leader Hishammuddin Hussein said the needs and demands by the grassroots need to be put first before relationship with other parties.

However, Hishammuddin believed the party would remain relevant despite uncertainties in the political landscape.

“The family spirit and comfort among members are signs that the party will remain relevant.

He said despite having differences in opinions, BN members would put aside their differences and focus on the party’s interests, which is the well being of the rakyat.

MIC deputy president M Saravanan said the meeting discussed the coalition’s direction in the near future.

“BN has agreed to have affirmative action to ensure the party remains relevant. This includes listening to the grassroots’ aspirations. We will make decisions based on their aspirations,” he said.
