SHAH ALAM:
Five more reports have been received by police in Shah Alam and Petaling Jaya pertaining to allegations of rape involving a male celebrity of a TV religious programme.

Selangor police chief Noor Azam Jamaludin confirmed this matter after receiving donations of face masks and liquid disinfectant at the Selangor police headquarters here today.

“Investigations are still underway on the suspect and there may be more new reports after this.

“We urge all those involved to come forward if they have been victims of the suspect,” he said.

Noor Azam said the 25-year-old suspect was pictured as a person of good character who used his image as a preacher to convince victims to approach him.

“He is described as a preacher who can calm people down and focused more on religiosity. This is an attraction to them,” he added.

When asked if the suspect used love spells, Noor Azam said the police had not received any information on the matter.

“We will investigate further on how they communicate and liaise with each other, either through Facebook or Instagram.”

Noor Azam said this case would take time to investigate as the victims might be ashamed to come forward.

“You cannot blame them. This matter involves their dignity but when someone comes forward to make a complaint, there will be those who will follow suit,” he said.

On Nov 27, police arrested the suspect following a report filed against him over an alleged rape. He was remanded five days from Nov 27.

The remand was extended by five days yesterday to assist in the investigation into the same case.
