
The RMCO had been scheduled to end yesterday.
Ismail said this was due to the high number of active cases, especially among foreign workers.
He said more hostels for foreign workers in Johor would go under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) after a rash of cases there.
The Westlite workers’ dormitory 1 and 2 in Senai, Johor, will be the first, from tomorrow until Jan 15.
The lockdown will involve two hostel blocks, consisting of 444 residents, all foreign workers.
The Kejora Juara workers’ dormitory, in Bukit Pasir, Muar, will be the second, with 212 Covid-19-positive cases recorded there.
The EMCO will affect 1,828 foreign workers.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at Apartment Ria, Bentong, will end today.
On the daily offences, Ismail said police arrested 347 people yesterday over movement control order-related offences.
He said 337 were issued compound fines while the remaining 10 were remanded.
Among the offences were taking part in activities at entertainment centres, failure to wear face masks and failure to provide materials for contact tracing or registration.
A total of 2,397 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories and banks,
Ismail also said police caught 31 illegal immigrants and seized five vehicles under Op Benteng.
He added that 95,466 people had arrived through KLIA from July 24 to Dec 31 from various countries.
A total of 540 people were sent to hospital for treatment, while 87,486 were allowed to return home and 7,440 people are currently undergoing mandatory quarantine.
