The former youth and sports minister said that as Zolkifly Md Lazim was from a party that was part of the ruling government, he would be able to obtain federal funds for such an initiative.
Zolkifly, the Teluk Bahang assemblyman, is from PPBM.
Syed Saddiq, who recently ran a campaign to collect funds to buy laptops for students in his Muar parliamentary constituency, said Zolkifly could also obtain an allocation from PPBM.
“So do not give excuses. Focus on solving the rakyat’s problems. Because, if we don’t, who else would do it?” he said in a Facebook post.
Syed Saddiq, who had previously questioned the delay in distributing laptops to 150,000 students in 500 schools, as announced in the 2021 budget, said the problem could be resolved if all MPs and assemblymen worked together to provide the devices.
Yesterday, Utusan Malaysia reported Zolkifly as saying that students in his constituency, who did not have the equipment to follow classes online, could go to his service centre in Sungai Rusa.
He said this was because no allocation had been set aside to provide students with laptops and the necessary gadgets in Teluk Bahang.
