
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,858 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 151,018.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 194,114.
There are 42,389 active cases with 314 patients being treated in intensive care and 122 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the seven deaths bring the number of fatalities to 707.
The new cases today involved 3,674 local infections and six imported cases.
Johor recorded the highest number of cases today with 1,069, while others that recorded three-digit infections comprised Selangor (822), Kuala Lumpur (698), Sabah (295), Perak (181), Negeri Sembilan (112) and Penang (101).
They were followed by Kedah (76), Sarawak (70), Terengganu (68), Melaka (63), Kelantan (60), Pahang (42), Putrajaya (19), Perlis (three) and Labuan (one).
There were 64 cases from prisons and detention centres, most of which came from the Jalan Harapan prison (33) and Tembok Renggam (16) clusters.
The seven deceased today were all Malaysians, aged 55 to 84. All but one patient had suffered from existing medical conditions.
