Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,782 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 306,274.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 323,763.
There are 16,279 active cases, with 158 patients being treated in intensive care and 71 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the four deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,210.
The new cases today involved 1,340 local infections and 14 imported cases. Local cases comprised 1,042 Malaysians and 298 foreigners.
Selangor recorded the highest number of infections with 577, of which 471 were detected from clusters and close contact screenings.
This was followed by Sarawak (178), Penang (154), Johor (121), Perak (101), Kuala Lumpur (55), Sabah (39), Terengganu (37), Kedah (33), Kelantan (26), Negeri Sembilan (21), Pahang (five), Melaka (four), Putrajaya (two) and Labuan (one). Perlis had no cases.
There were 64 cases from prisons and immigration detention centres, involving the Tembok Tapah (57), Tembok Sungai Udang (two), Tembok Pengkalan Chepa (two), Jalan Harapan Prison (two) and Tembok Taiping (one) clusters.
The four who died were men, all Malaysians. They included two from Kuala Lumpur, aged 87 and 27, and the other two aged 79 and 61 were from Selangor and Sarawak respectively. All had existing medical conditions.
