Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,070 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 329,624.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the total number of infections now stands at 345,500.
There are 14,604 active cases, with 164 patients being treated in intensive care and 81 requiring respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the seven deaths take the number of fatalities to 1,272.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 661. This was followed by Penang (200), Sarawak (176), Johor (86), Sabah (69), Kelantan (57), Kuala Lumpur (42), Melaka (41), Kedah (37), Pahang (36), Negeri Sembilan (32), Perak (31), Labuan (eight), Putrajaya (three), Terengganu (two) and Perlis (one).
The new cases today involved 1,480 local infections and two imported cases. Local cases comprised 896 Malaysians and 584 foreigners.
There were 39 cases from prisons and immigration detention centres today, mostly involving the Telok Mas cluster, with 19 cases.
The seven deaths involved five Malaysians and two foreigners, aged between 53 and 96. All except one suffered from existing medical conditions.
