
In a statement, Noor Hisham said there were four workplace clusters, three community clusters, a detention centre cluster and another that involved religious activities.
Two clusters each were detected in Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, while Sarawak, Putrajaya, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan and Johor reported one cluster each.
Clusters that reported the highest increase in cases today are the Persiaran Cybersouth construction site (137 cases), Jalan Puncak Borneo (six) and Jalan Bambangan (47).

The nine new clusters are:
Kuala Lumpur
- Jalan Raja Laut – a workplace cluster involving Lembah Pantai, Cheras, Kepong and Titiwangsa. The first case was detected on April 9 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. It involves a service company at Jalan Raja Laut, Lembah Pantai. Some 100 people have been screened with 20 testing positive.
- Jalan Hishamuddin – a workplace cluster in Lembah Pantai. The index case was detected on April 12 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. It involves a transport firm located at Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, Tasik Perdana. A total of 79 people have been screened with nine found to be positive.
Sabah
- Tabanak – a community cluster in Lahad Datu. The index case was detected on April 11 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. Its name refers to Kampung Tabanak where the cases were detected. Of the 89 people screened so far, 15 tested positive.
- Kampung Gayang – a community cluster in Tuaran. The first case was detected on April 6 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. It involves a social event held on March 28 in Kampung Gayang. Some 548 people have been screened with 23 testing positive.
Sarawak
- Jalan Puncak Borneo – a workplace cluster in Kuching. The index cases were detected on April 11 after a screening at a workplace. It involves trainees at a training centre on Jalan Puncak Borneo. A total of 111 people have been screened with 61 found to be positive.
Putrajaya
- Lebuh Wawasan – a workplace cluster involving Putrajaya, Lembah Pantai in Kuala Lumpur and Seremban in Negeri Sembilan. The first case was detected on April 8 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. It involves a public administration centre at Lebuh Wawasan, Presint 7 in Putrajaya. Of the 65 people screened so far, 11 tested positive.
Melaka
- Taman Malim Jaya – a community cluster in Melaka Tengah and Jasin. The index case was detected on April 12 in a screening after exhibiting symptoms. Its name refers to Taman Malim Jaya where the index case resides. A total of 52 people have been screened so far with 13 testing positive.
Johor
- Jalan Salleh – a detention centre cluster in Muar. The first few cases were detected on April 3 after a screening at a detention centre on Jalan Salleh. Some 100 people have been screened so far, with 23 found to be positive.
Negeri Sembilan
- Jalan Bukit Belida – a cluster related to religious activities in Seremban. The index case was detected on April 9 in a pre-work screening. It involves a religious centre at Jalan Bukit Belida 1. Of the 27 people screened so far, 15 tested positive.
Clusters closed:
Ten clusters ended today, namely the Jalan Sekerat, Jalan Taiping, Meha construction site, Jalan Nusa Mega, Cyber 72, Jalan Industri Tiga Pontian, Taman Alam, Bukit Kiara construction site, Buloh, and Pasai clusters.
There are now 344 active clusters out of the total 1,478 reported.
