The confirmation comes amid claims on social media that two trains had collided head-on at an unspecified location in Kuala Lumpur. However, the nature of the accident remains unverified. LRT trains run on separate tracks.
Prasarana has confirmed only that trains number 40 and 81 are involved.
Pictures and videos circulating on social media show injured and bleeding passengers on the floor of the carriages.
Prasarana said emergency and rescue services are already at the scene.

“All injured passengers have been evacuated to the platform. Emergency aid and rescue is ongoing. Our priority is to get all our passengers to safety,” the rail operator said.
