PETALING JAYA:
While thousands were disappointed and hundreds raged after failing to secure a slot to get the AstraZeneca vaccine today, one Facebook user found the answer to a quick registration – a switch of language.

The Facebook user revealed that his attempt to register an appointment slot paid off when he changed the language setting to Tamil, and he successfully booked an appointment for him and his wife.

Rushdan Rashid said his wife changed the setting to Tamil after she got “fed up” trying to register, adding that they had almost given up trying to sign up altogether.

“Had a battle to grab a slot earlier, my wife was fed up with the long wait.

“(She) changed the language to Tamil and got a slot at 1pm. (For) how many years has she kept her knowledge of Tamil a secret from me,” he said on Facebook.

“I don’t know the date, or the venue. Just clicked randomly.”

His success garnered praise and congratulations from his friends in the comments section.

Rushdan in a reply to his Facebook friend, Azrin Anwar Yahaya, also said his wife got the tip to change the language through Twitter.

Meanwhile, another friend, Anthony Liew also admitted to getting a booking slot by using the same trick.

“Same. I don’t know the location and place for me and my wife,” he said.
