Its secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr said his signature had been forged in the so-called statement, which was “defamatory”.
The statement also claimed the agreement was signed by PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan.
“I strongly refute the contents of the statement dated June 11,” he said, in a statement here today.
“I have never at all whether on behalf of Warisan or in my personal capacity agreed (to the statement) or signed any muafakat (solidarity) agreement with PAS to support any individual as the prime minister.
“Warisan has no involvement in the media statement.”
Loretto added that statement was the action of people who are “power crazy”. He said he would lodge a police report after discussing the matter with his lawyers.
An online portal had speculated yesterday that Hishammuddin, who is foreign minister, was being touted as the next prime minister with senior minister Azmin Ali as his deputy.
Hishammuddin has brushed off the report as rumours over Twitter, saying “I don’t entertain rumours.”
