Selangor PKR Youth chief Chua Wei Kiat said the video, which was circulated on social media, was a clip of a policeman speaking to reporters in what appeared to be a broadcast news report.
Chua, however, said the audio recording had been edited, and alleged that it was slanderous towards PH and could have been the work of opposition supporters.
“I believe whoever made the video wanted to divert the issue of SOP enforcement during the full movement control order to PH. This is slander.
“Even Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has said SOPs are decided by the federal government,” he told FMT.
The police report was lodged at 11.15am today at the Shah Alam district police headquarters.
“Police must investigate to identify who was involved in this. The PH state governments have been giving full cooperation to the federal government in (the) enforcement of SOPs and providing vaccinations to ensure that Covid-19 cases can be reduced,” said Chua.
