PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has detected 12 new Covid-19 clusters in the past 24 hours, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said.
In a statement, he said six of them were workplace clusters, two each were community as well as high-risk group clusters, and one each involved the education sector and a religious activity.
The clusters were detected in Johor, Kedah, Melaka, Selangor, Penang, Sarawak, Pahang and Kuala Lumpur.
Melaka
- Jalan Graha Makmur: a workplace cluster in Melaka Tengah linked to employees of a supermarket. The index case was detected on Sept 2. 139 screened, 32 positive.
Selangor
- Jalan Hilpark: a high-risk group cluster linked to employees of a service company at the Puncak Alam business centre affecting Kuala Selangor. 13 screened, 6 positive.
- Industri Jalan Jati Kanan: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers affecting Klang. 91 screened, 61 positive.
- Jalan Megah Suasana: a high-risk group cluster linked to employees and residents of a care centre in Cheras affecting Hulu Langat. The index case was detected on Sept 16. 84 screened, 70 positive.
Johor
- Jalan Firma Terbrau: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers at the Tebrau industrial area affecting Klang. 126 screened, 35 positive.
- Jalan Shahbandar Lapan: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers in Skudai, Johor Bahru. 90 screened, 22 positive.
- Jalan Sutera Merah: an education cluster linked to students and staff of a learning centre in Johor Bahru. The index case, involving an 11-year-old, was detected on Sept 25. 60 screened, 17 positive.
Kedah
- Dah Perusahaan 2B Industri Kulim: a workplace cluster linked to factory workers in Kulim. 135 screened, 25 positive.
Penang
- Jalan Perak, George Town: a high-risk group cluster linked to employees and residents of a care centre in George Town affecting Timur Laut district. The index case was detected on Sept 22. 50 screened, 44 positive.
Sarawak
- Julin Dabai: a community cluster affecting Marudi. The index case was detected on Sept 16. 84 screened, 70 positive.
Kuala Lumpur
- Jalan Persiaran Pertahanan: a religious cluster linked to employees of a religious institution affecting Titiwangsa. The index case was detected on Sept 18. 35 screened, 9 positive.
Pahang
- Kampung Sungai Mas: a community cluster linked to villagers in Sungai Lembing affecting Kuantan. The index case was detected on Sept 11. 74 screened, 21 positive.
