
Federal CID director Abd Jalil Hassan said they have also recorded a statement from a complainant who lodged a police report.
“We have referred one IP to Bank Negara on Oct 14 and the other we will refer to the central bank on Monday,” he said in statement.
Jalil went on to say that today four police reports had been lodged, two of which have been classified as “no-further-action” as they were linked to memorandums demanding for a probe.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob gave his assurance that Putrajaya will not interfere if enforcement agencies choose to take action against Malaysians named in the Pandora Papers leak.
The data leak is the biggest of its kind, and involves nearly 12 million documents and other records from offshore service providers who help set up and manage shell companies around the world.
Among those who have been linked to it include finance minister Tengku Zafrul Aziz, Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, former finance minister Daim Zainuddin, PKR’s William Leong as well as parents of fugitive financier Low Taek Jho.
