KOTA KINABALU:
Warisan today announced its Petagas assemblyman, Awang Ahmad Sah, as the party’s new information chief.

Awang, a first-term assemblyman, replaces Sindumin rep Yusof Yacob who had quit the party to become an independent supporting the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) last Oct 8.

Warisan secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr said in a statement here that the decision was made at the party’s Supreme Council meeting held earlier today.

Awang, 62, had won the Petagas seat in the state elections held in September last year.

He is also the Putatan divisional chief as well as a Warisan Supreme Council member.

Ahmad said the new information committee he would lead will comprise young and experienced members to address several immediate issues.

One of these is to ensure Undi18 is implemented successfully by the end of this year to allow 18-year-olds to register as voters.
