Water supply fully restored in 998 Klang Valley areas

Air Selangor says maintenance works at the Sungai Selangor treatment plant have ended.

Major areas of the Klang Valley have been without water supply since Wednesday (Oct 13).
PETALING JAYA:
Water supply has been restored by 6pm today at 998 areas affected by scheduled water cuts, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said.

The water concessionaire said the affected areas include Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Hulu Selangor, Kuala Langat and Kuala Selangor.

“Maintenance works for critical assets at Sungai Selangor Phase 1 water treatment plant have fully recovered,” it said, and thanked its customers for their patience during the water supply disruption period.

The scheduled water cut started at 9am on Oct 13.

The upgrading and maintenance works for the water treatment plant were completed on October 14, but Air Selangor had said the duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas varied depending on the distance of consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.
