“Let the Johor state government decide. If the menteri besar Hasni Mohammad feels there is a need for state elections, then they need to have an audience with the Johor Sultan.
“The decision rests fully with the Johor state government,” he told reporters after launching an agri-commodity event here this evening.
Last Monday, Hasni, who is also head of Johor Umno, said the party has had no discussions about the state polls.
However, he admitted that the government is “more unstable” after the state assembly majority was reduced to one seat following the death of Kempas assemblyman Osman Sapian on Dec 21.
The Barisan Nasional-led (BN) state government now has 28 seats, while Pakatan Harapan has 27.
