Ignore ‘noise’ from losers, let’s get on with work, says Rafizi

PKR’s incoming deputy president claims that the losers in the party elections refuse to accept their defeat as they want to delay the new leadership from taking over.

PKR’s incoming deputy president Rafizi Ramli says action will be taken against PKR members who have been continuously questioning the party’s election results.
PETALING JAYA:
PKR’s incoming deputy president Rafizi Ramli has urged the party to ignore the “noise” made by those who lost in the recent party elections.

Stating that it was unfortunate that those who lost could not accept their defeat and instead, kept on pressuring party president Anwar Ibrahim to call for a re-election or forensic audit, Rafizi said they should instead work towards regaining the public’s trust in the party.

Rafizi said those who lost in the party elections wanted to create the perception that his victory was due to manipulation.

“The party will be caught up in the political games of certain individuals despite the fact that the majority of PKR members have accepted the results,” he said in a statement.

“Among the key steps I will take as deputy president will be to look into the entire forensic audit process.

“I will also make sure that action will be taken against those plotting to sabotage the party by continuously questioning the party elections in a bid to delay the new lineup from taking charge,” he added.

He claimed that those who lost, most notably Anwar’s former aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, were questioning the election results to prevent them from being certified at the party’s upcoming national congress.

Stating that the national congress should not be postponed any longer in view of the next general election (GE15) which might be called soon, Rafizi said his priority as deputy president was to prepare the party’s leadership and election machinery to face the polls.

Rafizi was responding to a statement issued by Farhash yesterday, who claimed that the party’s election committee (JPP) had ignored complaints made by several candidates on the online voting system when it released its forensic audit report.
