Communications director Fahmi Fadzil said the council agreed on this after going through the reports prepared by the party’s election committee and the developer of the ADIL voting app.
Fahmi said the council was briefed on the findings of the audit report on the party’s election results which was prepared by a firm hired to audit it.
He said the council also took note of the flaws in the usage of the app as per the audit firm’s explanation, as well as the firm’s recommendations on measures that need to be taken to fix these flaws.
“With this, the central leadership council accepts the official results of the party election that was announced by JPP (the election committee),” said Fahmi in a statement on Facebook.
He said the council took note of some of the 1,800 complaints filed by the election candidates and assured them that these complaints would be addressed.
He also said the council decided that the PKR Wanita and Youth Congress will proceed on July 15, followed by the national congress on July 16 and 17, at the IDEAL Convention Centre in Shah Alam.
“This 16th national congress will witness the new leadership taking charge of the party and begin charting its policies and the course for GE15,” he added.
The final election results came after the completion of a forensic audit.
A significant change in the results at the central leadership level saw senator Fadhlina Sidek defeating Batu Tiga assemblyman Rodziah Ismail for the PKR Wanita chief’s post.
Fadhlina won the post with 18,923 votes compared to Rodziah’s 18,891, giving her victory by a slim margin of 32 votes. Rodziah was leading in the unofficial results.
