
This comes shortly after Najib’s lead counsel for his 1MDB case, Shafee Abdullah, refused to entertain questions on how his client was doing in prison and telling the media to find out themselves.
“He (Najib) is in good health. Thank you very much for coming to give your support,” Rosmah told both supporters and reporters.
One of Najib’s supporters were seen teary-eyed while bidding farewell to Rosmah who left the Kuala Lumpur High Court with her entourage.
Today, Najib resumed his 1MDB trial at the High Court here, making his first public appearance since he was jailed on Tuesday.
Najib is facing four charges of using his position as then prime minister to obtain bribes totalling RM2.3 billion from 1MDB funds, and 21 charges of money laundering involving the same amount.
He was sent to Kajang Prison on Tuesday after the Federal Court upheld his conviction and sentence of 12 years’ jail and RM210 million fine in the SRC International case.
