PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim said the coalition is realistic that it can secure the people’s mandate and then implement the programmes “as soon as possible”.
“However, the biggest task would be to revive the economy,” the PKR president and PH’s prime ministerial candidate said.
Among the key pledges in the PH manifesto released today are recognising the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) and allocating two deputy prime minister’s posts – one from the Peninsula and another from East Malaysia – if it wins GE15.
PH also pledged that the appointment of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner will be vetted by a bipartisan parliamentary select committee.
During GE14, PH promised to deliver on 10 pledges within its first 100 days in office, but only fulfilled two – the abolition of GST and the review of mega projects.
It received backlash for its failed promises, including the reintroduction of fuel subsidies and the elimination of unnecessary debts forced on Felda settlers.
PH was toppled in February 2020 when Barisan Nasional, Bersatu, PAS and a faction led by PKR’s then deputy president, Azmin Ali, joined forces to form a new government led by then Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin.
