In late August, Puad had challenged Rafizi to expose details about the project involving former Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng after the PKR deputy president exposed shell companies linked to the RM9 billion littoral combat ships (LCS) project.
On Sept 1, Rafizi tweeted that he would explain why he did not intend to discuss the undersea tunnel project.
“In September, Rafizi said he would answer my challenge on the Penang tunnel project. It’s been two months now and there’s still no answer,” Puad said on Facebook.
Although Lim’s trial over the project continues, Puad said the people were interested to know what happened to the development of the tunnel.
Lim, the DAP chairman, is standing trial on charges of using his position as the then Penang chief minister to ask a businessman for a 10% cut of the profits made in the undersea tunnel project and for accepting RM3.3 million in kickbacks from him.
The former Bagan MP is also accused of two counts of dishonestly misappropriating state land worth RM208.7 million from two companies.
