KUALA LUMPUR: Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Anwar Ibrahim has arrived at Istana Negara to be sworn in as Malaysia’s 10th prime minister.
The PKR president arrived at 4.30pm.
Earlier, Istana Negara said the King had consented to Anwar’s appointment as prime minister. He will be sworn in at 5pm.
The Tambun MP was accompanied by his wife Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
As he drove past, Anwar waved to members of the media, who have been gathered outside the palace since this morning.
Meanwhile, about 200 jovial PH supporters had converged at Gate 2 of the palace to show their support to Anwar.
Some were seen carrying placards that read “Anwar Ibrahim PM ke-10”.
