
According to a New Straits Times report, this was revealed by PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan, who said the Larut MP was appointed in a recent meeting involving the coalition’s component party leaders.
Takiyuddin said the leadership had also appointed him as PN’s chief whip in Parliament.
“We maintain our previous stance that PN will not join the unity government and will become the opposition in the Dewan Rakyat,” he added.
Earlier this week, Terengganu Amanah Youth chief Zamir Ghazali proposed that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang be appointed the opposition leader because the Islamic party won the most seats in the general election (GE15).
