At the PKR convention yesterday, Rafizi accused PAS of winning big in the last general election through money politics and said Sanusi is deploying “a rubbish formula” in Kedah that was not sustainable.
In a response today, Sanusi who is also Kedah menteri besar said the same “rubbish formula” saw Pakatan Harapan (PH) being nearly wiped out in Kedah in the last general election (GE15).
It also saw voters coming out in droves to vote and teach PH a lesson where they lost 14 out of the 15 parliamentary seats.
“For Rafizi, he and PH are never wrong and are always perfect. He behaves like he is the authority on all matters.
“The truth is, no one rejected PH and BN due to money politics.
“Rafizi’s criticism is akin to accusing voters of not being smart. It is an insult to them,” he told FMT.
Sanusi said if Rafizi continued with this kind of lies and his condescending attitude, the “green tsunami” that happened in GE15 was set to become bigger each time he opened his mouth.
Sanusi, who is also PAS’ national election director, said voters were now smart enough to evaluate candidates and parties based on performance — not their cheap talk and rhetoric.
“The chicken and egg problem is yet to be settled and the promise of a drop in fuel prices never happened.
“Rafizi will be the cause of PH’s downfall in the upcoming six state elections and the 16th general election,” he said.
Sanusi said PAS would continue being a “Milo tin” party, unlike PKR which is sponsored by big tycoons flying in by helicopter.
He was referring to Rafizi’s statement yesterday that PAS’ funds would have dried up now after spending lavishly in GE15 to win over voters.
He said the party would have to go back to its old ways of collecting donations through “Milo tins” at its ceramahs.
“Rafizi should know who the real king of money politics is now — it’s none other than their partner (in government) now,” he said.
