Jakoa office in Gombak destroyed by fire

No casualties were reported in the afternoon blaze.

KUALA LUMPUR:
The Orang Asli development department (Jakoa) office at Kampung Sungai Chinchin, Gombak, was destroyed in a fire that started at 1.20pm today.

Selangor fire and rescue department director Wan Razali Wan Ismail said the distress call came in at 1.35pm and three teams from the Selayang, Gombak and Wangsa Maju fire stations were dispatched to the scene.

“When firefighters arrived at the location, the office was 80% burnt.

“In addition, a shipping container there was also destroyed by the fire,” he said today.

Wan Razali confirmed there were no casualties and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
