Woman stabbed by boyfriend in Ampang

Police believe the man had acted violently after the victim said she wanted to end their relationship.

The suspect had earlier slashed the victim’s car tyres and smashed her windscreen while she was still in the car.
PETALING JAYA:
A 45-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed by her boyfriend at a parking lot of a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa after she told him she wanted to break up with him.

Ampang Jaya district police chief Azam Ismail said the suspect, who is on the run, had slashed the victim’s car tyres and smashed her windscreen while she was still in the car.

“The victim then ran out of the car only for the suspect to chase her and assault her with a sharp object,” he said in a statement.

The woman was sent to Hospital Ampang for treatment after sustaining injuries to her stomach and left hand, Azam said.

He said the suspect was believed to have attacked the victim when she wanted to end their relationship. She had met the man three months ago.

“We have identified the suspect and are in the midst of tracking him down.”

He said the case was being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt with a weapon.
