Jasryn Hilmy Juraidi, 41, is alleged to have engaged in unlawful activity by accepting bribes to expedite the payment processes of Pos Logistics Bhd on invoices issued to the company.
He was charged under Section 16(a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, and, if convicted, is punishable under Section 24 with imprisonment of up to 20 years and a five-fold fine.
Sessions court judge Awang Kerisnada Awang Mahmud granted bail at RM20,000 with one surety.
He also ordered Jasryn to report to the Selangor MACC headquarters every month and for his passport to be impounded.
Earlier, deputy public prosecutor Irna Julieza Maaras asked for bail to be set at RM40,000 given the severity of the charges.
However, lawyer Noor Zuriawati Ishak, appearing for the accused, requested a lower bail sum, saying he has to care for two children, aged 11 and three, and his elderly parents.
The accused posted bail and next the case was set for mention on Feb 21.
