“MN was not born out of the struggle for unity of the ummah.

“It’s merely a political transit NGO, hence Nazri should leave,” Puad told FMT today.
According to Puad, MN was registered by someone on a whim, just for the sake of forming an association.
“Then Annuar Musa was invited to join. He in turn brought in people like Noh Omar and Zuraida Kamaruddin,” Puad said, adding that he doubted whether Annuar and Noh were qualified to lead or ensure the unity of the ummah.
“They are known for playing ‘backstabbing politics’. They already have a poor record. They, especially Annuar, don’t have the aura needed to unify the ummah,” he said.
However, Puad said there was no need for Umno to take action against Nazri, a former Cabinet member, because MN is simply an NGO, inferring that it does not interfere with party matters.
Yesterday, Annuar posted a picture of himself with Nazri on Facebook, thanking Nazri for joining MN.
According to an Umno source, MN was registered by someone who still holds a post within one of the party’s divisions.
“However, he left MN after Annuar became the chairman,” the source said.
The original MN was a short-lived political alliance between PAS and Umno, which ended in December 2022. Subsequently, MN the NGO was formed, with Annuar becoming its chairman.
