Hasnah, 65, is likely to receive her appointment letter from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim at Istana Negara tomorrow, a source told FMT.
She will take her oath of office later on the same day before Justice Akhtar Tahir, the most senior High Court judge.
Hasnah will be the third woman to occupy the third highest post on the judicial ladder, after Siti Norma Yaakob (2005-2007) and Zaharah Ibrahim (2018-2019).
She was appointed judicial commissioner in 2010 and served at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
She was made High Court judge on April 4, 2012 and elevated to Court of Appeal judge on March 21, 2016.
Hasnah, the third most senior judge after Justices Nallini Pathmanathan and Zabariah Yusof, was sworn in as a Federal Court judge on Dec 5, 2019.
She takes over as CJM from Zabidin Diah, who retired in February.

The source also said Justice Ahmad Fairuz Zainol Abidin will be elevated from the High Court to the Court of Appeal alongside seven other High Court judges.
They are Justices Noorin Badaruddin, Firuz Jaffril, Alwi Abdul Wahab, Faizah Jamaluddin, Ahmad Kamal Shahid, Ismail Brahim and Wan Ahmad Farid Wan Salleh.
Fairuz started as a judicial commissioner on March 30, 2018 and was confirmed as High Court judge on March 25, 2020.
Under Article 122B of the Federal Constitution, all judicial appointments are made by the king acting on the advice of the prime minister and in consultation with the Conference of Rulers.
Earlier today, the chief secretary to the government Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar confirmed that Ahmad Terrirudin Salleh will step down as attorney-general today and will be appointed a Federal Court judge tomorrow.
Sixteen judicial commissioners, who have served in their posts over the last two years, will also be confirmed as High Court judges.
